SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
The New Mexico Alliance for Hispanic Education and HSF have awarded thousands of scholarships to New Mexico’s most deserving college students. Today, many of these same students are leaders in business, law, medicine, and academia. Through its mission of providing scholarship funds, the New Mexico Alliance for Hispanic Education is dedicated to increasing college enrollment among Hispanic students in New Mexico. The Alliance realizes that this cannot be done without the financial resources of New Mexico’s business leaders. Scholarship recipients are very grateful for the assistance they receive as they strive to reach their educational goals.

“I am a recipient of the 2008 HSF/NM Alliance Scholarship. Thank you for selecting me as a recipient of such a scholarship. I challenge myself every day to try and achieve the best opportunity for learning. I believe in challenging my skills and my knowledge, and what better way than by majoring in a field that everyone considers to be hard, Engineering. As of now, I am a dual major seeking to achieve a Bachelors of Engineering as well as a Bachelors of Science.
One thing that I did not emphasize in my letter is how grateful and honored I am for receiving such a scholarship. I am grateful because there are organizations that invest money on individuals whom they personally don’t know. I am honored because you have selected me as one of your recipients, but rest assured that the money you have
granted me will not be wasted.”

“I am honored to be a recipient of the 2008-2009 HSF/NM Alliance Scholarship Award. Thank you for your generous contribution towards my college education. I am very grateful to have been selected as a second year recipient.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of New Mexico. My plan throughout college is to get a degree in Criminology and Biology. The University of New Mexico is ranked very high for their medical school and I hope to be admitted there where I can pursue my dream of becoming a Pediatric Cardiologist.
This scholarship will help me pay for tuition, books, and other items. It will cut back on possible future financial troubles I may run into in the future because of medical school. It will also help me to become more independent.”

I am writing today to tell you how important our participation in the HSF Golf Tour has meant to our company.
As you know, Citadel has been a major HSF Tour sponsor since (2002) I became General Manager. Through those seven years, we have seen first hand the benefit of our sponsorships when we have attended the annual scholarship lunch. It really does make you feel good when you know your dollars are going to grow the future with these bright students.
I also have to say that in addition to helping us with our community outreach, we have been the beneficiary of significant amounts of incremental media dollars that otherwise would not have been spent with Citadel.
You may know this already, but it bears repeating here. We have numerous opportunities for charity golf tournaments and play in our fair share. Your leadership in tournament details makes the HSF tour the premiere (excuse the pun) golf event in New Mexico. We have used your formula to help educate others on how they might consider upgrading... from check-in to tchotzke's to the entertainment factor, Premier Distributing's commitment really puts this golf tour beyond all competitors.
When any company makes an ROI decision about charity involvement, it is easy to calculate why they should associate themselves with such a class act.
